Mindfulness is often used in relation to relaxation. I have often see it practised in a very static way, sitting on a chair similar to doing mediation and therefore using it during everyday activities can prove difficult for some people.
Usable in daily life
We need to be able to continue all our activities and don’t always have time to take 90min out of the day to meditate and do yoga. Relaxation techniques need to be transferable into every day life and I don’t think most of them are. This is why I think stress level are not decreasing. these practices are done as separate events on occasions when we can create time in the day to do them.
This is why I have developed a range of relaxation activities that you are able to do wherever and wherever you want. Because in most cases no one will even know you are doing them, they are ideal in a shopping queue, when you have to wait for someone or a bus, train or plane. Whether you are driving a car, in a meeting or in bed there is a lot you can do to help relax, reduce pain and improve your general health.
In this workshop you will discover the main principles you can follow and most basic movements to help you relax. You will discover how your thoughts effect movement and vice versa. This is why they are called mindful movements and not exercises, therefore they are suitable for everyone.
- Are you recovering from illness or injury and want to go at your own pace?
- No partner or previous experience needed
- Nothing to get right or wrong and no judgement from the teacher.
- Do you want to exercise and relax but can’t follow a yoga class ?
- All are welcome young, old, fit or unfit.
- Would you like to be more at peace with yourself?
- Do you want to be able to navigate the chaos of life more easily?

Teacher Julie Nicholls:
I trained as a nurse because I wanted to help people get well. What I discovered was that medicine was focussed on disease, not health as defined by the World Health Organisation as: “not the absence of disease or infirmity but a complete state of physical, mental and social wellbing”.
After more training in various other modalities, it is very satisfying to offer private sessions and workshops to help people regain and maintain their health.
On the day:
- Wear loose comfortable clothes; layers to remove as you warm up and put back on as you cool down.
- Bring some water and an open mind
